5 Rules For Air Conditioning In The Children’s Room

1. The optimal temperature

The ideal temperature for adults and older children is between 18 ℃ and 22 ℃. For babies, the situation is a little different, so they prefer a slightly higher temperature, between 26 ℃ and 27 ℃ when they are awake and another 4 – 6 ℃ higher when it is time for bathing or when they are sleeping.

2. Ventilate regularly

Rooms, where children stay, must be regularly ventilated. Before turning on the air conditioner, open the windows, let fresh air in, close them, and only then turn on the device. Repeat this procedure several times during the day.

3. Take care of the humidity

In a room with air conditioning, the air may be too dry. To prevent this, in addition to regular checks, you can get a humidifier or ionizer, which will also remove allergens from the air. You can also put a bowl of water in the room and put a few drops of lavender oil in it.

4. Turn off the air conditioning 15 minutes before leaving the house

Experts suggest turning off the air conditioning fifteen minutes before leaving the room. That way, the organism will have time to adapt to the outside temperature.

5. The air conditioner must be clean

It can often be heard that the climate is the reason why the child caught a cold and started sneezing. When the filters are dirty, not only they don’t clean the air from bacteria but are also the reason for the air infection.

To protect your kids and yourself, we strongly recommend maintenance and regular servicing of the AC unit. And if you don’t know how to clean the air conditioner, it’s not a bad idea to call a professional.
