How to Choose the Right Type of Air Conditioner

Choosing a right type of air conditioner for your home could be overwhelming for various reasons. There are so many variables that you should take in consideration in order to choose the right one.  You should think about the size of your home, your budget, the climate of the area that you live in.

Before you buy yourself an air conditioning device you should read about different types that exist on the market and choose the one that suits you the most.

First things first. The all air conditioning devices are divided into two major groups. Central air conditioners and room air conditioners which include: portable AC, window AC, ductless mini-split AC,  through the wall AC, packaged terminal AC (PTACs). Now we get to choose one.

Central air conditioning system is the most preferable system for larger homes. It circulates cool air through a system of supply and returns ducts. Supply ducts carry cooled air from the air conditioner to the home. Once the air becomes warm it circulates back into the supply ducts where it will be transported back to the AC. The central AC will provide the evenest cooling throughout the home and it is more efficient than window units.

Portable air conditioners are considered as the upgraded window units. They are very practical cause they can be moved from room to room. They are most effective in hot dry climates with windows open.

This system is installed in a window of a room. Window AC cooling system is the best solution for the ones who live in small apartments or for the small offices.

This system can provide cooling as well as heating. It is perfect as one room cooling solution. They are very easy to install and also energy efficient. They are called split-systems cause they are made up of an outdoor and indoor unite.

These systems come with a variety of different modes such as sleep, dehumidify or fan mode. That is why they are very convenient for working spaces.

Packaged terminal air conditioner is the perfect solution for hotels, hospitals or apartment buildings. They are made in different standard dimensions and installed in window or masonry walls.
